World Expo is a global non-commercial Expo with it’s 150 years history and tagged as Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology aiming to exchange ideas and developments. Exhibitors will publicise and display their achievements respectively.
World Expo 2010 kicks off on 1st May 2010 at Shanghai, China and the largest Expo in the history will to end on 31st October 2010 expecting 70 million visitors and more than 100 leaders worldwide. The Expo 2010 theme, ‘Better city, Better Life’ represents the concerns for the future lifestyle in urban developments. The largest ever participations for the Expo recorded at Shanghai Expo 2010 with more than 190 countries and 50 international organisations exhibits their respective culture, achievement, technology and future aims.
Singapore Pavilion exhibited the culture of the countrymen, achievement and technology including the effort to clean Singapore River as well as the future aims towards an environment friendly liveable community. Thailand, our neighbour at the north has tabled a marvellous pavilion at the World Expo 2010. Thailand exhibited their culture, tourism and even local fruits through a 4D short movie. It is a great publication that visitors may have the passion to visit Thailand after visiting the Thai’s Pavilion. That’s a success!
When all the exhibitors shows their achievements, Malaysians are doing their commercial exhibition by bringing the businessmen to put up their own stalls respectively. There are stalls selling coffee powders, cocoa, mooncakes and pictures etc. The situation looks like Malaysians are in hunger looking for sources to invest in the country and it supported the statement saying the possibility of the country goes bankcrupt in the year 2019 as mentioned by the Minister in Prime Minister Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala. Maybe it is a new concept by moving one of the pasar malam from Malaysia to Shanghai.
The poor quality of the officers in Malaysian Pavilion contributes to the disgrace of Malaysians. A leaflet with wrongly spelled English introductions for the country are being distributed to visitors. When confronted, stupid excuses are given.
How is the future for the country? Who should be hold responsible for the disgrace in Shanghai? Why all the sub-standard officers sent ? Malaysia, my beloved country. What’s wrong with you? Who is the culprit?
